Glory Days Preschool is open to children ages 2½ through Pre-K (4 and 5 year-olds). We also offer a Parent/Toddler Class for parents and their children under the age of 2-1/2. See the class description below to learn more.
Registration begins in January and is ongoing until classes are filled.
All Preschool Classes meet from 9:15am-12:00pm. Lunch Bunch is available for all from 12:00-1:00pm. All classes subject to change.
Our parent/toddler class is open to children under the age of 2 ½ and is a wonderful introduction to preschool. The class is a “mini” version of our preschool day with a time for free choice play, a circle time with music, a craft time and snack time. Children learn to be comfortable on our campus with mom or dad by their side so are more prepared to come on their own when they are old enough for preschool. This class meets on Tuesday mornings from 9:15-10:15. It is offered in ten week sessions. (Fall: Sept. 19-Nov. 21, Winter: Jan. 16-March 20, Spring: April 10-June 12)
In our youngest drop off class, we focus mainly on social skills (learning to be away from mom and dad, sharing, speaking up about our needs, and interacting with others). The daily schedule includes a circle time focusing on a weekly theme, art, story time, active play, snack, and lots of time for free choice play and exploring. This class meets two days a week (M, W) and attends Chapel on Mondays.
Our three year old classes also focus on gaining social skills while adding an academic component that is developmentally appropriate. While the students rarely do “worksheets” they will be learning pre-writing skills through singing, reading and being surrounded by the written and spoken language. Pre-math skills are taught through fun counting, patterning and calendar activities. Like the 2 ½ year old class, the 3’s class is play based and is comprised of circle time, art, story time, active play, snack and free choice play. We offer both a two day (T, TH) and a three day (T, W, TH) option for 3 year olds. Both classes attend Chapel on Tuesdays and Physical Education Class on Thursdays.
In our Pre-K classes, we continue to offer a play based program that prepares students for kindergarten in a developmentally appropriate way. These classes are comprised of all of the elements listed in the 3 year old class. In addition we implement curriculum from Handwriting Without Tears (proper pencil grip and letter formation) and Zoophonics (connecting letter sounds to letter names) to make sure the students head off to kindergarten with the skills they need to be successful. We offer both a three day (T, W, TH) and a four day class (M-TH) option for our Pre-K students. Both Chapel and Physical Education classes are included on a weekly basis.
As a Christian preschool, we are thrilled to have the privilege of teaching our students about God. Each class goes into our sanctuary on a weekly basis and meets with Miss Ali, our chapel teacher. They get to hear a story from the Bible, sing worship songs and learn basic Bible truths such as God made us, He loves us and He is always with us.
In our PE class, students meet with Miss Amy once a week to learn about health and fitness through various games and activities.
Lunch Bunch offers the opportunity for all students to extend their day by an hour. Each student brings their own lunch and gets to eat with their classmates and teachers. There is also additional time for free choice play, reading and outdoor active play. The fee for each session is $7 and can be paid in advance at the front desk.
